iPad Air 2 Review
The iPad Air 2
Slimmest and lightest iPad ever
Here comes another amazingly light, slim & fast device in the basket of Apple.
Built quality
Apple's history is full of nicely built devices and this one adds one more to it. Body of this tablet is made out of metal and feels like a tough object in hand, but because of the metal finish it is really slippery and its light matte finish does not help either. All the button positions is the same as original but only the volume silence switch is compromised by Apple to reduce its thickness. It also consist of Touch I.D. which most people think is useless on a tablet because no one stores important information on their tablets, but sometimes it is useful to open the tablet without touching the screen and only touching the home key. There are 2 microphones, one above the volume rockers and the other is adjacent to the camera.
On top of it there is the power key and the 3.5mm audio jack and at the bottom there is the charging port and 2 speaker grills.
iPad Air 2 is basically a lighter, slimmer and faster version of its predecessor iPad Air.
You can't see much difference between them. Both are high end products of Apple and perform mostly the same. The visible difference between both is when gaming. But before discussing it lets move on to the review of the new iPad Air 2 and after that we'll see the comparison between the two devices.
Camera
With an improved sensor, advanced optics, and a more powerful image signal processor, the new iSight camera in iPad Air 2 captures incredibly detailed photos and professional-looking 1080p HD videos and captures the images at a resolution of 3264×2448. The FaceTime HD camera has been redesigned, too, with a new sensor that makes your video calls look better, even in low light. And the large, high-resolution Retina display makes a spectacular viewfinder. It is a 8MP camera which also records SLO-MO videos at 120fps and shoots panorama photos to and have a burst mode which can take more than 250 photos. But there is one negative point if you are shooting SLO-MO videos in night because then it's resolution becomes a little less.
The front facing camera is also redesigned to deliver great images in low-light too. It also have improved video recording capabilities.
You can shoot the best photos during the day time because in night it captures noisy photos but in daylight the photos are as good as a 13MP camera.
Here are some sample images captured by my iPad
Display
With the new design comes a new and better 9.7 inch display. To make the device slim Apple have laminated the display layers making it a very low reflecting screen or as Apple claims it doesn't have any air in between the layers.
The crisp retina display maintains its profile in the market with the resolution of 2048-by-1536 at 264 pixel per inch (ppi). The display also have a Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating which do not allow the screen to get smudged up easily. Reading on it is really good because you can read all the small alphabets on it very easily. Watching HD videos on it along with the retina display is a nice experience.
Processor / Chipset
Unlike its predecessor the iPad Air 2 comes with a much more powerful chipset which makes multitasking seamless and the speed of the tablet is much improved, also the gaming experience on this is much smoother with next level of graphics.
The iPad Air 2 comes with a A8x processor along with it is the M8 motion coprocessor which helps in running the background apps and helping the main processor focusing on the task the owner is doing at that time.
The speed of processing applications is much faster with it and can be compared to the competitor tablets in the market.
Pros:-
1 Light weight & slimmer than the original
2 Faster than the original with better graphics
3 Much less reflective
4 Much brighter & crispier display
5 Touch I.D. For those who store important things on their tab
6 Nice camera for day light photography & videography
Cons:-
1 Battery eater ( when connected to WiFi ).
2 Not for taking photos at night
3 Slippery
